I got to know Bernhard in Vienna, Austria in the 1980’s when I worked with Kurt Jetmar, who was my main teacher of cinematography. I often found myself part of a group of pioneering film artists in the coffee houses of Vienna. Bernhard was known for his work on films such as “Liebe das Leben – Lebe den Tod” (1990), “On the Road to Hollywood” (1982), and “Müllers Büro” (1986). Unfortunately, he passed away in 1999.
